My Name is Kevin Beth, creator of Charms for the Open Road for bike or rider from
Travelers Alley Studio in Lake Mills, WI.
By telling you about myself, I hope to engage
you with my passion for the road and my excitement for my art.

I took to the road in 1979 on my motorcycle, which I named The Black Renegade. I spent a decade traveling through 49 states, Mexico and the Provinces of Canada. During that time I discovered myself and I learned that people are fundamentally the same. My travels also taught me that I have a fierce passion for the road, along with a fright that never leaves when biking. For some it may be wondering whether the kickstand is up or down. For others, it may be riding at night or riding in a pack. For me it is the "Wind and the Wiggle" I feel when crossing bridges.

     I left the road in 1989 after 250,000 miles to settle down. I became a goldsmith/metal smith and opened my own studio. It is here that I am able to express myself through my other passion, jewelry making. It is important to me, to be able to share my passion for the road and to express through my jewelry the guidance and ethics I feel when biking.

     I believe my Charms for the Open Road Series captures the essence of biking. For the entire time I rode, I had my own Charm given to me by my mom. I want to offer you a Charm that you can take with you on your journeys. My hope is that my creations will bring "Mindfulness" to you as well as the special "Thing" about riding that keeps you coming back. Perhaps that "Awareness" of your Charm will also keep you safe until the end of your ride.
